India Sri Lanka Series is again in the discussion since yesterday.  The Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SCL) has said that they are fully prepared to host the Indian team in July. They requested the BCCI to reconsider playing the scheduled 3 ODIs and 3 T20 series. Recently the BCCI refused to go on a tour of Sri Lanka due to the corona pandemic. The suspense still remains in this series.

According to news source, Sri Lanka is set to host both India and Bangladesh in July. SCL CEO Ashley Di Silva said that he has sent emails to both BCCI and Bangladesh Cricket Board in this regard. Bangladesh is scheduled to have a 3-Test series after the India tour in July. Di Silva said that they are waiting for an answer from both the boards.

Coronavirus pandemic has created confusion on India Sri Lanka Series

The effects of corona are much less in Sri Lanka than in other countries of the world. There are less than 500 cases reported so far. But air travel in Sri Lanka is banned from the beginning. At the same time, air service in India and Bangladesh is also banned due to Corona. In such a situation, both cricket boards have to take permission from their government for scheduled matches.

Bangladesh Cricket Board CEO Nizamuddin Chaudhary said that they are looking at the air travel ban. Both countries must follow the corona protocol suggested by WHO. He said that they will make a decision only after looking at all the aspects. They are in contact with the Sri Lankan authorities. According to the agency, a BCCI official has also said that it is not possible to have a tour to Sri Lanka for the moment. The travel restriction and lockdown rules applicable to all including cricket events in Indian and abroad.
