Faridkot DSP Shot Died During Student Protest at Jaitu
A shocking incident came to light in Punjab’s Faridkot. A Deputy Superintendent of Police Baljinder Singh Sandhu killed during the student protest at Jaitu. Which is 35 km from Faridabad. While another Policeman is reportedly injured by Sandhu’s bullet while trying to disburse the student’s crowd.
According to the report, DSP Sandhu was killed by his own licensed pistol. Inspector General Mukhwinder Singh Chhina stated it as an accidental fire, and DSP died on the spot.
If reports are to be believed, the students were protesting at Regional Campus of the Punjabi University in Jaitu. Following the arrest of two students, who were arrested a couple of days ago.
As the news broke, MS China confirmed the news and said that. Sandhu and his gunmen were rushed to Faridkot Medical Hospital where the DSP died of his wounds. Sandhu’s gunman is battling for his life.
The DSP was at the University College, where students had gathered to protest a recent incident of moral policing. The students were raising slogans against the police and calling for ‘azaadi (freedom)’. When the DSP warned them against doing so. This angered the students further and in the commotion, a gunshot was heard.
The incident has sent shockwaves amid the state administration and a probe has been ordered.
According to a purported video that has emerged. Which shows DSP Sandhu trying to pacify an enraged mob. Suddenly, a gunshot is heard following which the cop is seen collapsing on the ground bleeding. Some media reports said that DSP Sandhu was shot by his own service revolver.
According to the Hindustan Times report. The DSP and the police personnel accompanying him, who was injured critically by the same bullet. They were rushed to Guru Gobind Singh Medical Hospital in Faridkot.
