She was born to parents with Italian Ancestry. She claims that her parents had a very modest beginning. Born as Stefanie Joanne Angelina Germanotta on this day in 1986 in Manhattan New York. Lady Gaga was born and brought up in the hustle and bustle of New York City. She attended a private all-girls Roman Catholic School. She also claimed that as a high school student she was very dedicated, studious and disciplined.

Her association with Music started at the age of four. Her parents encouraged her to learn music and even pursue a career in Music. As a teenager Lady Gaga used to attend open Mic Nights across various venues across New York. She also studied acting from the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York. She spent 10 years at the Institute. She also appeared in a small role in the Famous TV Series The Sopranos in 2001.
