Nokia and HMD Global in India
HMD Global, the Finnish Mobile Company just announced the launch of their latest devices; the Nokia 3, 5 and 6 in India today.
This is the first and furious start to HMD’s objective of bringing Nokia back at the forefront of the Mobile Device and Telecommunications Industry.
HMD which signed a ten year deal on December 2016 to own and produce products with the Nokia brand.
They gave a dazzling display of their first line of products, earlier this year at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
HMD launched alongside the three aforementioned phones; their classic beloved Nokia 3310 with an updated model. The legendary phone touted as unbreakable, was a fitting start.
However, the best is yet to come!
Nokia 3, 5 and 6 are Born!
The trio of Nokia 3, 5 and 6 boast Android based smartphone capabilities at an affordable price in a competitive market.
Currently the Nokia 3 is listed at an affordable Rs. 9,499 and goes on sale from July 16th.
The 3 features a simplistic 5-inch HD display along with 16GB storage and a 128 GB MicroSD support. It also includes an 8 megapixel camera both front and back.
Thus rounding out a fine handset on an easy budget. Something Nokia is pushing for, in the growing market.
The next upgrade is the Nokia 5, exclusively available off-line; it’s pre-booking opens on July 7th at a decent price of Rs. 12,899.
In its sleek rounded design; it houses a finger print scanner on the home button. With a 5.2 inch HD display and 2GB RAM, not to mention powered by the Snapdragon 430 processor; this one’s a steal!
It includes a 13 Megapixel camera at the back and and 8 Megapixel on the front.
Finally comes the 6. The crown jewel of the launch will have an Amazon exclusive sale from July 14th at the price of Rs. 14,999!
The effective smartphone, features a 5.5 full HD display with 2.5D screen.
Like the Nokia 5, it features a finger sprint scanner along with being powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor and includes 3GB RAM.
There is 32GB inbuilt storage with external microSD support of up to 128GB.
A dual set of 16 megapixel and 8 megapixel cameras for back and front respectively, rounded out with Dolby Atmos audio enhancement and dual speaker capabilities.
Nokia in the Smartphone Age!
The big event launch and announcement proves, that not only is HMD looking to resurrect the brand. But it also sees India as a potential thriving market.
The competition, at least for local brands has gotten tough.
With HMD announcing local manufacturing of these and future products, Nokia is that old rock band we all love; looking to stage a comeback in a big way.
