With 226 runs to win the second one day International against West Indies England showed up a great performance against the Caribbean after a terrible performance in India. With Joe Roots and Chris Woakes partnership England managed to clinch the series and steer the victory.
With West Indies batting first Jason Mohammed top scored with 50 runs followed by Brathwaite with 42 runs for 70 balls. The bowlers managed to bowl all of them out and Plunkett took 3 wickets by giving 32 runs followed by Steve Finn and Adil Rashid who took 2 wickets each.
When England started batting England lost couple of wickets quickly where Ashley Nurse and Devendra Bishoo played the game changers. With Jason Roy scoring 52 runs there was a ray of hope that he would score big but he was caught by Brathwaite.
With Joe Root and Chris Woakes coming together they had phenomenal unbeaten 102 run partnership for the seventh wicket to steer England to victory. Joe Root went on to score 90 not out as England won the series with one match still left. Both teams are now slated to go to Barbados and play in a dead rubber.
