Who said our Hindi films are only restricted to Hindi actors? If ANIL Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, IRRFAN KHAN, Priyanka, and Deepika can represent Indian Cinema on a global platform, why can’t their actors serve their country in India?

Mostly memorable, some forgettable and few iconic, here are some foreign actors who tried their hands in Hindi movies.
 Ilene Hamann

5. ILENE HAMANN-ROG (2005)

Penned by Mahesh Bhatt, this IRRFAN KHAN starrer saw the debut of South African beauty, Ilene. Playing Maya, a woman murdered under mysterious circumstances, she soared the screen with her smoldering and scorching presence. No prizes for guessing, the hero is eventually drawn towards her.
Wish she did more films here.

Giselli Monteiro love aajkal

4. GISELLI MONTEIRO- LOVE AAJKAL (2009)

Playing the role of a Punjabi Kudi, Harleen, GISELLI brought both vulnerability and shyness to her part and emerged as one of the film’s biggest surprise packages. Sharing a warm and immensely likable chemistry with Saif, the film’s leading man, indeed it seemed she was tailor made for Hindi movie. We do not know where she disappeared. Although, she did another film called Kabhi Kabhi (2011), that sank without a trace.

barbara mori kites

3. BARBARA MORI-KITES (2010)

This Spanish sensation set the screen ablaze with a hot chemistry with Greek-God Hrithik Roshan. Easily, one of the most breathtakingly beautiful and exquisitely shot films, Kites was all about Barbara and her pairing with her leading man. Alas, destiny dealt a cruel hand, and the film failed to fly. Barbara flew back to Spain, and the rest is history.

alice patten rang de basanti

2. ALLICE PATEN- RANG DE BASANTI (2006)

Portraying the role of a British filmmaker, who wants to make a film on India’s freedom fighters, ALLICE as Su was a complete hoot. RDB was as much the story of Su as much as the journey of 6 friends. Truly a memorable film and an even more memorable performance.
How we wish she stayed back here.

rachel shelley lagaan

1. RACHEL SHELLEY-LAGAAN (2001)

The most nuanced and layered performance by a foreign actor came in the form of Rachel. Set in the era gone long by,w hen the British rule dominated India, this fine actor essayed the role of Elizabeth, who realizes the evil intentions of her brother and decides to support the helpless and poor villagers instead. With a charming presence and confident acting skills, she definitely had in her, to be a mainstream actress.
